Traffic Violations to Becoming Stricter

Staff Writer, Jul 19, 2007

If you are the type of person who likes to gun it when the light turns yellow, you may want to think again.  The Porter County Sheriff's department is cracking down on traffic violations, specifically running red lights.

Though all areas with traffic lights will be monitored, police will concentrate on the intersections with the most traffic accients.  The most dangerous intersections in Porter County in 2006 included US 6 and McCool Road in the South Haven area, Ind 130 and County Road 475 West, near the Sedley Bridge in Union Township, US 30 and County Road 250 West in the Valparaiso area, and Ind. 149 and County Road 700 in the South Haven Area.

Though other traffic violations will still be enforced, red ligh violations will become a priority.
