It is possible to plea bargain a speeding ticket, if you go to traffic administrative court or whatever court is handling your case. Instances in which you are likely to be able to convince the states attorney to allow you to plea bargain are if you have a clean driving record, prior to getting the ticket, busy court days when the court wants to clear its docket for the more serious cases, and if there was no property damage involved when the ticket was issued. The court is also more likely to accept a plea if the officer issuing the ticket does not show up, you do not get an outright dismissal of your case. Every circumstance is different and it can often depend on who is prosecuting the case and what judge is hearing the case on your day in court.
Consultation with a lawyer familiar with the court handling your case and experienced in traffic violations will give you a better idea of your rights and the possibility of being successful in plea-bargaining your ticket.
