Washington Driving Record

Do you know what is on your Washington driving record? Since Washington State does not have a points system, many drivers do not worry about what is on their driving record until they go to purchase new car insurance. Without a points system, Washington does have guidelines for suspending your license. It is based on the number of moving violations you receive. If you get four moving violations in a year, your license will be suspended for 30 days. Get five in two years and you will face the same suspension. Your license could also be suspended if you fail to pay a traffic ticket. In some cases a traffic court judge may stop the suspension if you attend a driver awareness class. Washington commercial truck drivers face tougher penalties. These drivers can also be penalized for any violations they received while driving out of state since their job depends on their ability to be a safe driver.

Fast Facts
