Traffic Tickets

If you receive a traffic ticket, it will either be for a moving violation or a non-moving violation. Non-moving violation traffic tickets include parking violations and in some states, failure to maintain car insurance. Moving violation traffic tickets include speeding, failure to yield and passing in a no-passing zone. Moving violations are usually considered more serious and can add points to your driver's license. If you receive a traffic ticket, you have two options. You can pay the ticket, which is an admission of guilt. Somewhere on traffic tickets a court date is listed. This may be on the bottom of the ticket. If you feel like you are not guilty, you can ask the judge to dismiss the case or try to reach a plea bargain agreement. Just make sure you pay the fine or show up in court. If you don't you can be charged with failure to appear and in some jurisdictions, you will be arrested.
