It's hard to miss the red and white signs telling you to "stop" but it does happen. If you are lucky, no one would have seen you and you didn't cause an accident. But if you were seen, you are going to be pulled over for running a traffic stop sign. What should you expect? The officer is going to check your license, registration and in some states will the officer will ask to see an insurance card. If your record is clear, the officer will explain why he or she pulled you over and ask you some questions. You will get a warning or a ticket. If you get a ticket, you will be ordered to pay it by a certain date. If you want to fight the ticket, you can go to traffic court. To avoid getting a ticket for running a traffic stop sign, remember that you have to come to a complete stop. "Rolling stops" or just slowing down are not considered stops.
