Traffic Stop Rights

You are pulled over in a traffic stop and the officer asks to search your car. You agree, thinking you have nothing to hide. But you forgot about that gun under your seat that you forgot to get a permit for, you could be in trouble. You didn't know your traffic stop rights and that you did not have to let the officer search your vehicle without a warrant or giving probable cause. Now if you had drugs within plain sight which would give the officer cause to search your vehicle. If you are pulled over, you should also know that the officer does not have to read your Miranda rights. That means the officer and the prosecutor can use anything you say against you if you are prosecuted for a crime. Anytime you are dealing with the police, you should say as little as possible so that you don't incriminate yourself.
