Speeding Tickets Court

Depending on the circumstances surrounding your speeding tickets, it may be wise - or unwise - to dispute your speeding tickets in court. For instance, if you truly believe that you have been unfairly or erroneously issued a speeding ticket, it may be worth it to dispute the ticket in court, provided, of course, that you have some legitimate basis for your belief. Similarly, there are a number of reasons to legitimately dispute speeding tickets, if only to reach a compromise with the prosecutor that might give you a better deal in the way of reduced fines and/or points on your driving record. On the other hand, if the police officer who wrote you the speeding ticket already gave you a break, such as by writing the ticket for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph speed zone, as opposed to the 78 mph that you were actually driving, then contesting your speeding ticket in court is probably not worth it, since you have already gotten a break from the police officer.
