Seattle Parking Ticket

The Seattle Police Department uses officials from its parking-enforcement division to issue parking tickets. These officials issue parking tickets both manually and with cameras installed in their vehicles, which are used to document the license plates and positions of vehicles that have not been moved within the specified period of time. If you receive a Seattle parking ticket for failing to timely move your vehicle as a result of this new camera technology, it may be more difficult for you to contest the parking ticket, since pictures of your license plate and vehicle position can be used against you in court. Nonetheless, you have the option of either admitting your guilt and paying the ticket, or requesting a hearing before the Municipal Court of Seattle in order to try and contest the ticket, or at least mitigate the ticket. If you do not either pay the Seattle parking ticket or request a hearing within fifteen days of receiving the ticket, however, you lose your right to dispute the ticket, and you will start to incur interest and penalties on the unpaid ticket.
