Reckless Driving Ticket

There are a variety of scenarios in which you might receive a reckless driving ticket, which is the result of driving in a way that exhibits a conscious disregard of risk to others' safety. Some actions automatically qualify as reckless driving, such as driving at an extremely high rate of speed, or trying to elude law enforcement officials. On the other hand, simply driving at a rate of speed that is only moderately greater than the posted speed limit, or merely committing a minor traffic infraction, are not sufficient actions to justify a reckless driving ticket. In determining whether you have earned yourself a reckless driving ticket, police officers may consider your rate of speed, the number of traffic laws that you violated, the time of day during which you were driving, your past driving record, the amount of traffic on the road, any weather conditions that existed at the time of your driving, and/or the likelihood that your driving did or could have caused harm to another person.
