Reckless Driving Georgia

Reckless driving, or aggressive driving, is a misdemeanor crime in Georgia, which you commit if you drive in a manner that is meant to annoy, harass, endanger, injure, or harm another. Georgia law does not specify any certain speed or action that automatically qualifies as reckless driving. Under Georgia law, a conviction for reckless driving may result in a jail term of up to one year, a fine not to exceed $1,000, community service, and/or other penalties. Driver's license suspensions are determined by a point system in Georgia; a reckless driving conviction contributes four points to your driving record, and, depending on the number of points that you have accrued, your driver's license could be suspended for a period of one to five years. Additionally, reckless driving under Georgia law is considered to be a serious traffic offense that will undoubtedly result in increased auto insurance premiums in the future.
