Reckless Driving Fine

A fine is one of the potential consequences of reckless driving in any state. Typically, reckless driving is a misdemeanor crime, so fines range from about $100 to $1,000 or more, depending in your state's laws, your prior driving history, and other facts and circumstances surrounding the incident that led to your reckless driving charge. Some courts may even take into account your ability to pay a fine; if you are unemployed or live on a fixed income, the court may decrease the amount of your reckless driving fine, but also has the option of increasing other penalties to some degree. In most cases, you will be given a certain amount of time in which to pay the fine. If you do not pay the fine on time, you may subject yourself to suspension of your driver's license in some states, which often will last until you have paid the fine, along with any resulting late fees and/or penalties.
