Radar Speeding Tickets

In America today, law enforcement officials often rely on radar, either in the form of handheld radar guns or photo radar equipment, in order to issue speeding tickets to drivers. However, radar is not always foolproof. Radar guns may issue false results if the road on which they are being used is not flat and straight, if there is heavy traffic, if there is a lack of visibility due to weather conditions or other factors, or if the officer utilizing the radar gun is not properly trained to interpret its signals. Furthermore, radar guns are subject to errors as a result of interference from other mechanical devices, motion of the vehicle from which they are being used, blockage by road conditions such as signs or overpasses, and/or reflection of signals off windows or mirrors. Therefore, radar gun results are simply not always accurate, and there are many reasons to contest their results in the event that you are issued a speeding ticket.
