Fix It Tickets

Fix it tickets are tickets you receive for having fixable problems with your vehicle. These tickets go by that name because they are, as the name implies, fixable. In addition, if the cause of the ticket is fixed within the time frame allowed on the ticket, than the ticket will usually be waived. In order to do this, the driver ticketed must have proof that the error was fixed, and take it along with the ticket to the police station and have an officer sign off on it. Common fix it tickets are issued for a number of malfunctions. These include broken or dim headlights, faulty turn signals, broken brake lights, cracked windshields, dangerously bald tires, broken exhaust systems, and broken bumpers. They can also be issued for not having a license plate, having expired license plates, having windows illegally tinted, or having a vehicle illegally modified. You can get fix it tickets for not being able to produce your insurance papers when pulled over as well.
