Fighting speeding tickets is a difficult task if you do not know what you need to do to be successful. The burden of proof is on you, not the officer, and you must present a clear case to the judge that shows your innocence, or find a technicality that is grounds for a dismissal. This could mean documenting road conditions that were present and lead to your ticket, such as a construction zone, inclement weather, or heavy traffic. Do note that the defense 'driving with traffic' almost never holds up in court. Additionally, if there were any eyewitness accounts or issues with signage, note them down as well. As for technicalities, these can occur on a ticket, where false information could have been written. Or you could seek to delay your hearing, as up to 50% of the time, officers have been known to not show in court, which leads automatically to a dismissal. Once in court, it is always a good idea to be aware of any plea-bargains available as well, as these commonly lead to reductions and dismissals.
