Certified Driving Record

They will know you by your driving record. Yes, every state now maintains a certified driving record for every licensed driver. That record differs by state, but it usually includes when and what type of driver's license you hold, your in-state tickets and accidents, and possibly those that have occurred out of state. Some states maintain those records using a point system, by which they determine when you will have additional penalties or surcharges assessed for multiple offenses. If you have too many tickets or accidents, you may have your license suspended or revoked. The infractions listed on your driving record may remain for 3 years, 5 years, up to 15 years, or indefinitely. State laws determine those limits, but in states where the records are maintained indefinitely, they may only be held against you for a limited amount of that time
